about

One morning shortly after the twins were born, I asked Andie if she would play the piano a little bit for me. Both completely exhausted, a little music break would do us good. It only lasted a few minutes, she sat down, composed it on the spot, I took out my phone out and recorded. Then it fell into oblivion.
Over a year later I was digging through my recordings and came across this. The vocal melody came to me within minutes. We're kind of on the other end of the spectrum from our song Us Grownups Need Lullabies Too released earlier this year, which took months to build. Here we are talking more about spontaneous composition!
Over the last two and a half years, we have listened to a lot of Enya in our car. Her album Sherpherd Moons plays in loop, it calms the little ones and it calms the old ones too. You can feel her influence in this song, with Andie's wall of vocals running through the choruses.
Well, enough context, it's still just a tune 😆
We hope you will like it.
lyrics
There's nothing I could say that
You haven't heard before
Just don't know where my heart's at
Anymore
It's used to being lost and found
But I'm tired of this silly game
I'm getting off this merry-go-round
Of chasing fame
There's somewhere that I've got to go
If I don't, I'll never know
Where I belong
They all told me what to do
I never thought they could be wrong
Turns out they just had no clue
All along
I used to hear my own voice
Now I never seem to find
Where's the song in all the noise
In my mind
There's somewhere that I've got to go
In the woods, where the volume's low
But this time I have to find
My own way home
This time I want to find
My own way home
This time I want to find
